ABOUT ME

Dr. Ujjawal is a Geneticist and Plant Breeder. He obtained Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India in 2019 . He works as a scientist in National Plant Breeding and Genetics Research Centre, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) Khumaltar, Lalitpur, Nepal. His full name is Ujjawal Kumar Singh Kushwaha.
 

Dr. Ujjawal is well known for his innovative research and works. He has discovered a new technique of managing fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda (J E Smith) larvae in maize crop and the research article is published in prestigious Nature journal Scientific Reports on 5th May 2022 (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-022-10982-7).

 

Dr. Ujjawal was honoured as New York Academy of Science Ambassador 2020 from USA, eLIFE ambassador 2018 from elife publishing, UK. He has received NDRI Research Paper Award (2010) and gold medal from ex. Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand (Nepal, 2003). He has also been awarded with silver medal by Vice chairman of National Planning Commission (Nepal, 2003). Similarly, he has achieved bronze medal by Junior Red Cross Society (2057 BS). He has published about more than three dozens of scientific papers and popular articles. He is author of most popular book BLACK RICE-RESEARCH, HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT published from SPRINGER.

Dr. Ujjawal is the one who received "Young Scientist Award" and medal from United States Of America (2010) during his bachelor study and also presented scientific paper in an international conference, Lucknow India in 2008.
 

Dr. Ujjawal born in Godaita-5, Ramban, Sarlahi, Nepal in 1985 and got primary education from the birth place. He obtained secondary education from Shree Chakra Janta Shahid Ganga Higher Secondary School, Barhathwa, Sarlahi and higher secondary School from Galaxy Public School, Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. He did B. Sc. Agriculture (2006-2011) and Master of Agriculture in Plant Breeding (2011-2013) from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Tribhuvan University, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal.
